Vinyasa, slowed for the last light
Breath-led movement that builds heat and ends quiet, timed to the part of the day when everyone else is winding down.
Sunset Flow is our most popular class, Vinyasa Flow, taken in the evening. It is breath-led movement that builds heat and ends quiet. Expect a mix of standing poses, balances, and a floor sequence, all tied together by the breath. The difference at dusk is the pacing: the heat still arrives, but the room softens as the light goes, so you leave loose rather than wired.
This is an all-levels class with options offered throughout, so it suits you whether it is your first month or your tenth year on the mat. If you are newer, you take the simpler line through each shape; if you want more, the fuller expression is always there. Nobody is singled out either way.
Come as you are at the end of the day. You do not need to be flexible, fit, or experienced, and you do not need to keep up with anyone. The sequence asks you to move with your own breath, which is the one pace that is always right for you.
Bring yourself, water, and clothes you can move in. Mats and props are free to borrow at the studio, so there is nothing to buy before you start. Arrive a few minutes early if you can, settle in, and let the day fall away before the first breath.
Sunset Flow is taught by Willow Hayes, who trained in bodywork before yoga, and it shows in how she reads a room. You will find this class at Solas Venice, where the light off the coast does half the work for us as the class draws to a close.
The class runs for around 75 minutes, with a slow, grounded close before you head back out into the evening. Times shift week to week, so head to the schedule to see when the next Sunset Flow runs and to book your spot. Popular classes fill quickly, so booking ahead is the surest way in.
